Suite à une résidence artistique à Bir Zeit (2012, Palestine), Marc Angeli propose l’exposition PALESTINE EXPERIENCES. Le projet initié par Jacques Barlet (Agence Wallonne du Patrimoine) et en collaboration avec Riwaq, le Centre Wallon d’Art Contemporain – La Chataîgneraie, et Wallonie Bruxelles International, réunit six artistes. Le fruit de ce projet fut l’exposition Waterfuckingmelons à laquelle ont participé Marc Angeli, Raymond Balau, Laure de Selys, Roberta Gigante, Erwan Mahéo, Johan Muyle and Marie Zolamian.
Six ans plus tard, Marc Angeli invite tous les participants autour d’une nouvelle exposition qui reflète ce que fût l’expérience de vivre et travailler en Cisjordanie. Avec cette initiative à la SPACE Collection, Marc Angeli tisse des liens entre expériences d’un territoire et démarches artistiques, interroge la position de l’artiste comme témoin et acteur en un lieu. Cette exposition réunit quelques projets architecturaux menés par Jacques Barlet en Palestine en concomitance avec la résidence, ainsi que des oeuvres inspirées par, ou réalisées lors de cette résidence.

Following an artistic residency at Bir Zeit (2012, Palestine), Marc Angeli proposes the exhibition PALESTINE EXPERIENCES. The first project, initiated by Jacques Barlet (Walloon Patrimony Agency) and in collaboration with Riwaq, the Centre Wallon d’Art Contemporain – La Chataîgneraie, and Wallonie Bruxelles International, brought together six artists. The fruit of this project was the exhibition Waterfuckingmelons, Marc Angeli, Raymond Balau, Laure de Selys, Roberta Gigante, Erwan Maheo, Johan Muyle and Marie Zolamian participated in it.
Six years later, Marc Angeli invites the same participants for a new exhibition that reflects the experience of living and working in the West Bank. With this initiative at SPACE Collection, Marc Angeli weaves links between experiences of a territory and artistic approaches, questions the position of the artist as a witness and actor in a place. This exhibition also brings together some architectural projects led by Jacques Barlet in Palestine in concomitance with the residence, as well as works inspired by or made during this residency.
